[Rainbow Construction project]

"It is my pleasure to recommend Bob Howard and Rainbow Construction Co., Inc. Rainbow served as our district's general contractor for our $1 million track replacement and stadium project at our high school. The work performance of Bob's entire crew was excellent; especially under the severe weather conditions we experienced which slowed construction down. The entire project was completed within three months, on schedule and ready to host our first track meet. In addition, Bob's ability to 'value engineer' kept our project within budget constraints when a vast amount of solid rock was detected during excavation. Bob's performance was remarkable and his professionalism and integrity was impeccable, especially under stressful conditions. The completed stadium and track project is a beautiful complex, one that our community patrons, staff and students are extremely proud of. We were so pleased with the work of Rainbow Construction that we contracted with Bob and Rainbow to build our new $750,000 administrative office building."

Bid in late May, with completion required prior to the start of school, this project was particularly challenging because the new storm water drainage system had to be installed in solid rock underlying the project site. Most of the old sports field, track and stadium seating were removed and replaced with new facilities, including a new ticket booth on the west side, added stadium seating on the east, landscaping and fencing. The new 8-lane, metered oval track meets all requirements of the Kansas State High School Activities Association, allowing Augusta High School to host any state track meet. Home team seating on the west side was modified to meet the American Disabilities Act requirements and provides 1,800 seats. The number of seats on the east side was tripled and can now accommodate 1,500 visitors.
