The library combines a 6,600 square foot basement with the 17,100 square foot main floor, for a total 23,700 square feet. Construction included cast concrete foundation walls, slab on grade concrete floors, and a structural concrete and metal deck over the basement. The above-grade work was constructed with structural steel walls, cold formed framing and roof trusses, and masonry exterior walls. The arched windows carry into a series of arched drywall openings between the interior column structure giving the library a very distinctive look.
