As part of an ongoing restoration project (dependent upon availability of funding) to Wichita's original airport terminal building, this phase of the restoration included Rainbow Construction removing the 1950s addition to the south terrace, salvaging the brick removed and using it to restore the south terrace to its original configuration as an observation deck, as it was in the 1920s; replacing frames on all exterior doors and installing wood doors similar to the building's original doors; removing, refinishing and reglazing all exterior windows; and restoring the main entrance to its original appearance with ornamental iron, brick columns and stone caps. |
